Colorado

Atmos Energy partners with Energy Outreach Colorado to manage and provide funds for home weatherization assistance to low-income qualified Coloradans. EOC also offers additional programs to low-income residents as well as affordable multi-family property owners and nonprofit facilities helping them to access cost-effective energy efficiency services.

Additionally, customers in Colorado can also contact the Colorado Energy Office to learn about a free Weatherization Assistance Program to Colorado’s low-income residents, giving them the opportunity to access cost-effective energy efficiency services. These programs give eligible residents the ability to save money on their energy bills and improve the health and safety of their homes.

Kansas

Homeowners and tenants in Kansas can apply for home weatherization assistance with the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation

Kentucky

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is the nation’s largest residential energy efficiency program. WAP enables low-income families the opportunity to lower their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient.

Kentucky Housing Corporation receives funding for WAP through the U.S. Department of Energy and the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services' Low Income Heating Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). This program can provide installing insulation, sealing the exterior, repairing ducts, and replacing heating equipment, where necessary. This could save as much as $500 in annual utility costs.

Louisiana

The Louisiana Housing Corporation offers many programs to assist current homeowners with issues ranging from home weatherization and energy assistance to post-disaster rebuilding and foreclosure.

The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is a federally funded program that weatherizes homes to improve heating and cooling efficiency; thereby reducing energy costs and improving the comfort level of household members.

Mississippi

The Mississippi Department of Human Services Weatherization Assistance Program is designed to reduce energy costs for eligible families by making their homes more energy efficient. The program, which serves the elderly, disabled and low-income families with young children, improves the energy performance of dwellings to decrease monthly energy expenditures. Weatherization crews provide the most cost-effective, energy efficient measures to address health and safety concerns, improve comfort and air quality.

Tennessee

The Tennessee Housing Development Agency's the Weatherization Assistance Program is designed to help low-income households in lowering their fuel costs through increased energy efficiency. This agency also provides funding for home repairs for qualified Tennesseans. 

Texas

Statewide Weatherization Assistance Program The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) operates the Weatherization Assistance Program with funds from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). WAP is designed to help low income customers control their energy costs through installation of weatherization materials and education.

Virginia

The Weatherization Assistance Program provides funds to install measures that reduce residential heating and cooling costs for low-income families and enhance the health and safety of residents.  The program provides repairs and improvements to home heating and cooling systems and provides for the installation of energy-saving measures in the house, such as insulation and air sealing. The goal of the program is to increase the energy efficiency of housing occupied by low-income persons and reduce their total residential energy expenditures. This program does not offer assistance with paying utility bills.
