During the year of Giving Week, happening next month, you will have the opportunity Make a Difference by pledging your support to one of these three organizations: No Kid Hungry, The Salvation Army, and the United Way.

Fighting Hunger: No Kid Hungry’s Mission

Atmos Energy, through its Fueling Safe and Thriving Communities initiative, contributed $2 million in 2024 to organizations like No Kid Hungry, helping students access food before and after school, so they start the day ready to learn. In the first half of 2025, Atmos employees contributed more than $120,000 to No Kid Hungry directly, through their payroll deductions. “No Kid Hungry is a natural partner for Atmos Energy, because we share the belief that no child should be distracted by hunger. We’re helping students start each day with a full belly, so they are ready to learn when they get to school each day,” said Public Affairs Vice President Brandi Price. This support has helped serve over 504 million meals nationwide, serving vulnerable children in all the states we serve.

Crisis Response and Compassion: The Salvation Army’s Lifeline

 The Salvation Army is a vital lifeline, offering hope to families in times of need. Their broad services include providing shelter, meals and case management for the unhoused, financial assistance for those struggling to make ends meet, community programs for youth, seniors, and prisoners, and disaster relief, helping communities rebuild and find hope in the darkest of times. Through employee donations made during the Year of Giving, Atmos Energy and The Salvation Army are fueling hope and growth for our most vulnerable neighbors. Our partnership extends beyond employee donations, too. We provide vital utility assistance through programs like “Sharing the Warmth”, so families don’t have to choose between heating their home and putting food on the table. “Through Sharing the Warmth, we’re helping families breathe easier knowing support is there when they need it most,” said Public Affairs Vice President Kelly Biegler. In addition to assisting customers with paying their utility bills, our donations provided support for food banks and shelters care for those in need. Whether responding to natural disasters in Mississippi and Kentucky or offering comfort after tragedy, this partnership has elevated hope and resources reaching families during their toughest times.  

Focusing on the Future: United Way’s Transformative Approach

The United Way researches and addresses the unique challenges within communities, transforming challenges into opportunities within the communities, transforming challenges into opportunities within the communities we serve. Because each United Way is locally run, donations made during the Year of Giving are supporting the impactful work being done by partner agencies right in your neighborhood. These organizations are providing communities with essentials like food, shelter, after-school programs, home care for seniors, and much more.

Together, the United Way and Atmos Energy are Making a Difference for kids, heroes, and neighbors in our communities. We’ve brought to life Reading Day in the DFW Metroplex, which brings volunteers into local schools to inspire a love of reading. We are building a community garden at Shady Grove Elementary in Monroe, La., and revitalizing school campuses in Southeast Louisiana. In Temple, Texas, Atmos Energy volunteers have engaged in Days of Caring, participating in activities from landscaping to cemetery restoration. Driven by our “AtmoSpirit” culture of service, these collaborations exemplify how sustained partnership, and compassion can uplift communities and create lasting change.
